Karelo

 

Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all events at C.F.B. Namao, BY MIDNIGHT OF THE THURSDAY 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE EVENT DATE.

Registration for all driving participants shall be through Karelo on-line registration (see link above), and will need to be done for EACH event.

Registration for spectators who are guests of driving participants should be entered using Karelo registration. Spectators are free to register, and can be added later to an existing registration.

SPECTATOR REGISTRATION:

If you want to drive on the base to watch, you still need to register your vehicle so the military will allow you on the base. Send the following information to the e-mail link below by the registration deadline to ensure you are allowed on the base:

1) Spectator name(s)
2) Drivers license #
3) Car Make
4) Car Year
5) Car License Plate and Province of Registration

Once a spectator is on the list, they will not have to register again and will stay on the list for the season. Send the above information to the e-mail link below to ensure you can drive on the base for the event:

Site registration runs from 8:45 am to 9:30 am. Drivers meeting at 9:45 AM followed by course drive and first runs.

Plan on being at he site by 9:00 AM at the latest if you plan on running. Cost for the event is $35 per driver with a maximum 30 drivers per event. Spectators are free.

Drivers must bring their car insurance and registration certificates to each event.

Teching of cars:

Competitors are responsible for teching of the cars. The organizers will do a quick check of each car, but competitors are still responsible for this.

Basic requirements are:

* No loose items in cabin and trunk(s).
* Throttle cable shall function properly.
* Brakes shall function properly.
* Tires shall be street legal (i.e. tread showing)
* Wheel bearings must not be loose (shake the wheel, must
not wobble).
* Battery must be properly secured and not loose.
* Car must have seat belts for all occupants.
* Car must be in good running condition.
* Cars must be street legal, registered, and insured unless trailered there. Proof of this must be brought with and shown to the registration officials.

Helmets:
Bring your own helmets. They must be SNELL approved, minimum M2000. If you don't have a helmet, don’t worry as you should be able to borrow from other people.

Marshalling, timing help, etc.:
All competitors will be required to assist with the marshalling and timing duties. While not driving, track workers are needed to marshal the course and time/record the times of the cars. Instructions on how to do this will be given at the event.

What to bring:
Sunscreen, rain g
ear, umbrellas, drinks, chairs, etc.
Bring suitable supplies with you for a full day outside without any shelter. There are no food or drink stores at the sites, so BYO drinks and food.

Directions to Event Location: NOTE: DUE TO HENDAY CONSTRUCTION, BASE ACCESS HAS CHANGED

DO NOT SPEED ON THE BASE. FOLLOW ALL SPEED LIMITS TO THE LETTER. NO STUNTING.
Military Police patrol the base and have a zero tolerance policy and will issue you tickets.

1) North on 82 St. to 195 Ave. Turn Left
- Proceed to RR 244 turn RIGHT (north) and access the base (observe ALL speed limits)
- Right on Churchill  Ave. (past the Tim Hortons)
at the flashing red signals (the MP Detachment).
- Left on Rhine Road (T intersection)
- Right on Vimy Avenue
- Proceed east to the Range Control building at the runway gate. Stop and check in with the Range officer in the trailer. Bring your Drivers License.
- Proceed through the gate onto the runway and
continue to the staging area on left. (60 KPH speed limit on runway)
- Back into your parking stall.

2) North on Highway 28 until the Twp Rd 544 intersection, turning right at the traffic signals.
- Proceed east to the T-intersection, turn right (south).
- As road curves left (east), keep right and continue south.
- Turn left (east) onto Churchill Avenue at the flashing red signals (the MP Detachment).
- Turn left (north) onto Rhine Road at the stop sign.
- Turn right (east) onto Vimy Avenue at the stop sign.
- Proceed east to the Range Control building at the runway gate.  Stop and check in with the Range Officer, bring your driver's license.
- Proceed through the gate onto the runway and continue to the staging area on left.  (60 KPH speed limit on runway)
- Back into your parking stall.
